In honoring the season and our "Lifelong Leaders and Learners who Love the Lord," ACA students will celebrate the college/university they either desire to attend or support the schools that their parents have attended!
College/University spirit wear for that day must be from a college/university, no pro teams, high school teams, etc. Students must adhere to the pant length and shirt standards of the uniform policy ( no more than 4" above the knee for pants, no tanks or sleeveless, etc.). Students may wear college spirit wear in the form of sweatshirts, t-shirts, jackets, athletic shorts/pants, socks, etc. If you have questions, please have your student email Mrs. Bundy or Coach Kaity ahead of time to get approval for their spirit wear. They may also wear a hat that day if it supports the college/university they are choosing to represent. Students may add face paint or other spirit color wear that supports the core colors of that school (no pompoms, megaphones, whistles, horns, gear such as pads, balls, or other "props" of this nature).
The intent is to celebrate the schools they are passionate about and love, while cultivating the power and importance of higher education. It is not a time to put down or degrade other schools of any kind (booing, hurting feelings, calling names, etc.-if this occurs, we will ask students to call home, change into a regular uniform, and sit out of the fun in the afternoon)! Remember we are striving to celebrate two of the L's in our mission, the "Leader" and the "Learner" as we RISE UP in this season and train the next generation for Christ!
NOTE: Logic & Rhetoric parents, please don't forget to go to the sign up genius and sign up to bring a snack item on that day as our Logic/Rhetoric students no longer have classroom parties but instead will have food and fellowship during lunch together with friends. Please click this link to sign up to bring a snack food item.
Storybook Day is an intentional on campus event to allow our little ones to see the joy and importance of the “Learner” in our school mission statement, “Developing Lifelong Leaders & Learners, Loving the Lord.” On this day students are asked to wear a favorite storybook character and bring a book that aligns with this character (i.e., Goldilocks and the Three Bears, dressing as one of the 3 bears) to share with their class. In their classes they will be sharing their stories and talking about the importance of books and reading. They will also participate in a parade around campus and celebrations in their classrooms on this day. Get excited as we celebrate the season and the importance of education for even our littlest of students!
**No spiders, goblins, ghouls, ghosts, jack-o-lanterns during our storybook celebrations please. We would like our themes to be around fall and celebration of the season and learning. Thank you!
